Master of Theological Studies Master of Divinity |
|
| The Master of Theological Studies degree (M.T.S.) is not specifically structured to prepare the student for the ordained ministry. Rather, it is designed to provide an in-depth development of theological understanding to aid in the student's spiritual life and ministry. This program will also adequately equip the student to better fulfill the mission of the church, as mandated from the Holy Scriptures. Finally, completion of this program will provide a substantial theological background to aid in future graduate study. Please refer to the General Admissions Requirements for the guidelines for this program. | |

MASTER OF DIVINITY The basic purpose of the Master of Divinity Degree (M.Div.) is to prepare highly qualified pastors, teachers, evangelists, missionaries, and chaplains for ministry in the Church; "to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up" (Eph 4:12 NIV). Most candidates for this degree seek to qualify for ordination. An additional objective of the M.Div. degree is to stimulate the student during seminary work, so that after graduation the imperative of ongoing personal study and preparation is realized to insure growth in the ministry. |
