FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT

In September, 1982, Evangel Theological Seminary offered its first courses and welcomed the initial group of students.

Since that rather inauspicious beginning, we have experienced much of the blessing of God upon our institution.  The student body has grown, the faculty has been expanded, and several innovative additions to the curriculum, including the Practicum, Directed Study, and Diploma programs have been developed.  Extensive syllabi have been produced for many of our courses, providing for the condensing of class meetings and increased efficiency for the student, both in and out of the classroom.

Our most recent addition to the curriculum, the Doctor of Ministry degree, gives ETS another level of academic and practical training for qualified students.

In 1991 ETS received full accreditation from the American Accrediting Association of Theological Institutions, a private Christian Accrediting organization.  We continue to evaluate and revise our curriculum and programs to maintain the level of excellence required by the Association.

From the very beginning, we have remained steadfast in our dedication to the primacy and authority of the Scriptures.  We maintain a deep commitment to provide quality, Biblical, theological training to equip God’s people for ministry and aid in the fulfillment of the Church’s redemptive mission in the world.  With these resolutions clearly in mind, we accept the challenge of a rapidly changing world order that provides far-reaching ministry opportunities to the entire Body of Christ.

Evangel Theological Seminary, entering our 25th academic year in September 2006, is positioned for the 21st century and stands ready to respond to the inherent complexities it presents.

In these crucial times, if God has called you to ministry, or you desire a deeper understanding of His Word, I personally encourage you to prayerfully consider enrolling in Evangel Theological Seminary.  We are truly, a seminary with a difference.

May the Lord richly bless you.

Dr. Robert Reichard, President
