SCHOOL OF
PRACTICAL MINISTRY
Evangel Seminary School of Practical Ministry - Level I
The School of Practical Ministry (SOPM) has been developed to provide a solid foundation for those who desire a deeper understanding of God's Word and its application in their lives without the time commitment necessary for a theological degree program. Throughout the SOPM program, students are continually encouraged to do 3 things:
01
Encounter God in a deeper more intimate way
The Word of God is active and alive (Heb. 4:12) and the Word is at the core of the 7 Modules in the SOPM program. Practically speaking that means as you study His Word, you will gain a better, more balanced understanding of a Heavenly Father who reveals Himself through His Word.
02
Explore how you have been uniquely created by God with specific giftings and talents
According to I Peter 2: 4-5 followers of Christ are "living stones being built into a spiritual house". Therefore, you have specific giftings and talents that God has given you to be shared with others to build His Body. In the SOPM, you will discover how you have been uniquely wired to walk out His plan for your life.
03
Equip yourself and others for every good work that each one has been called to within their local church Body and beyond
Handling the Word of God correctly is vitally important for spiritual health and development; for yourself as well as for others (II Tim. 2:15). As you work through the 7 Learning Modules and 3 Learning Projects in the SOPM, you will discover new truths and gain more clarity and insight into His Word, which will better equip you for the things God has called you to.
This encountering, exploring and equipping is accomplished through 7 Learning Modules and 3 Learning Projects broken down into 3 primary categories:
BUILDING THE FOUNDATION
Module 1: Examining Biblical Principles
Module 2: Understanding the Bible
Module 3: Exploring Church History
There are no lengthy research papers to write or textbooks to read. Instead, students will complete 3 very useful Learning Projects. Students will also become prayer partners throughout the course of the program. The SOPM manual and other needed materials are all included in tuition . Adults from all walks of life have gone through the School of Practical Ministry since 2007.

Matt Kiser was the assistant Youth Director at his church when he took the SOPM program. He felt like the class gave him greater confidence in sharing his faith and talking about the Bible. The primary requirement for taking the SOPM program is a hunger for God's Word and desire to grow deeper in your faith. Ready to move forward?
We would count it an honor to assist you in your personal growth and development in Christ. Countless hours of research, writing, editing and prayer have gone into the structure and material found in the School of Practical Ministry. Students, both here and abroad have found this study to be life changing. We believe you will come away amazed at what the Lord reveals to you through this SOPM learning journey.
